‘Strong Heart’ Recap: Inside Lee Seung-gi’s final show

Lee Seung-gi bid farewell to SBS’ “Strong Heart” on April 3. He has been with the show since its beginning in 2009 including the last five months hosting the show without the help of co-host Kang Ho-dong, who had retired.

As usual Lee Seung-gi awarded the winner of the show, Seven with a trophy and a bouquet, and Seven presented the bouquet to Lee Seung-gi, honoring his last appearance in the show.

Lee Seung-gi said, “I remember the beginning. I wasn’t sure I could do this, and I wound up doing it for almost three years. I could not have done this without help of the staffers and guests of Strong Heart.” He went on, “I miss the co-host Kang Ho-dong right now. And I thank the members in the production team, fans and every other people who believed in me when I was left alone in the show. I must be going now.”

He didn’t lose his sense of humor and led the rest of the show as usual, but ended in tears when a special tribute was turned on.

MC Shin dong-yup and actor Lee Dong-wook will replace Lee Seung-gi.

[아시아투데이=황보현 기자] 강심장에서 하차한 이승기가 끝내 눈물을 보였다.

2009년 '강심장' 첫 방송 때부터 '강심장' mc자리를 지켜오던 이승기가 3일 방송을 마지막으로 강심장 주인자리에서 물러났다.

이 날 방송의 강심장을 차지한 세븐은 이승기가 트로피와 꽃다발을 건네주자 "오늘 이걸 받아야 할 사람은 내가 아니라 이승기씨"라며 꽃다발을 주며 마지막 녹화를 맞은 이승기를 위로했다.

이승기는 “처음 순간이 기억난다. 스스로에 대한 자신없이 시작했는데 3년 가까이 진행을 했다. 강심장 식구들과 최고의 게스트 덕분에 가능했다”고 공을 돌렸다.

이어 “같이 시작했던 강호동 형님 보고싶다”며 “(강호동 하차 후)단독 MC를 맡을때도 흔들리지 않게 도와준 많은 사람들, 제작진, 팬 여러분 감사드린다. 나는 이만 물러가겠다”고 말을 맺었다.

'마지막 댄스타임'까지도 유쾌함을 보였던 이승기였지만 그동안 그가 활약했던 편집영상이 흘러나오자 이별을 실감했는지 참았던 눈물을 터트렸다.

이승기의 빈자리는 신동엽과 이동욱이 채울 예정이다.
