Lincoln MKZ demonstrates cool design and performance

AsiaToday reporter Choi Sung-rok = The all-new MKZ is the youngest of Ford‘s luxury brand, Lincoln. You may think it will fall behind the big brother lineup like MKS and MKX in terms of performance and design for being called ’the youngest‘.

However, the MKZ has built its own area with its distinctive features. The MKZ is a special car that’s boosting the overall Lincoln sales.

The MKZ exterior is one of the most distinctive one.

The MKZ‘s split-wing grille is stunning. It has a futuristic feeling created by the unified front end which flows from the hood to the headlamps. This sleek exterior design is playing a big role in improving the aerodynamic efficiency as well. It’s 10 percent more aerodynamically efficient than its predecessor.

The MKZ‘s most prominent exterior feature is the retractable glass panoramic roof.

Its extra large panoramic glass roof, measuring 1.41㎡, is one of the largest sling roof on the market and provides an open view for the driver and passengers.

MKZ’s 2.0L EcoBoost engine has a maximum output of 234 hp and a maximum torque of 37.3kg.m, similar to those of previous versions with 3.5L V6 engine. Its performance beyond the displacement is another prominent feature of the MKZ.

The MKZ is equipped with continuously controlled damping suspension, which provides real-time data to quickly adjust the shocks to deliver an optimum blend of ride and handling. Drivers can feel the sense of security even in the bumpy roads and highways.

Three driving modes are available with the MKZ: Normal, Comfort, and Sport and allows drivers select their favorite setting for driving.

Its combined fuel consumption is 10.2 kilometers per 1 liter and 13.3 kilometers per liter in highway.

The all-new MKZ is priced at 47 million won in the domestic market. This is a car recommended for drivers who want to experience American luxury brand with relatively low price.
